HERITAGE REIMAGINED
What started as a proposal to open up the kitchen to the rest of the living space transpired to include the addition of an entirely new en-suite bathroom in this hundred-year-old Craftsman. In a home with this much history, anything that feels overly new can stand out quickly. So instead of creating contrast, we focused on continuity. Studying the existing trim profiles and proportions, then carrying those architectural details into the new space.
Millwork and wainscoting echo the details found throughout the rest of the house, and the handmade ceramic tile adds just enough texture and variation to keep it feeling authentic. We approached each decision with restraint—nothing competing for attention, everything reinforcing the home’s original character.
