
INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN (Part-Time, Paid)
This paid internship offers immersive experience in both design execution and the inner workings of a boutique studio. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of responsibilities—from sourcing and site documentation to content development and support across active projects and marketing initiatives. Ideal for a current student or recent graduate with strong initiative and a passion for both design and branding.
Location: Hybrid – Based in Southern California with availability to meet at our Laguna Beach studio and travel to job sites (primarily LA and Orange County) as needed
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 8–12 hours per week, with availability during standard business hours as needed
Start Date: Summer 2025 (flexible)

Linette Dai Design is a boutique interior design studio specializing in high-touch residential projects that balance quiet luxury with everyday livability. Our work is rooted in thoughtful aesthetics, refined materiality, and emotionally intelligent client experiences. We’re looking for a highly driven creative who shares a passion for interiors as both an art form and a narrative—someone excited to support not only the design process, but the storytelling that brings it to life through branding, content, and marketing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Support
• Source and organize materials, finishes, and samples
• Run errands to pick up or return samples and materials
• Draft plans, elevations, and documentation in AutoCAD
• Create 3D models and visualizations in SketchUp
Site + Project Documentation
• Perform site measurements and help document existing conditions
• Attend site visits and client meetings with the Principal Designer to:
-Take accurate and detailed notes
-Assist in preparing presentation materials (digital and physical)
-Organize samples and support follow-up documentation
Marketing + Content Creation
• Document photo and video content across job sites, studio life, and industry events.
• Contribute to marketing efforts, including:
-Creating and scheduling content for Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
-Designing marketing graphics
-Editing short-form video (e.g. reels) to support brand storytelling
-Assisting with blog posts and/or newsletter content
-Helping organize and update the portfolio, website, and case studies
Studio Operations
• Maintain the sample library and digital project files
• Assist with internal organization and project workflows
• Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support studio and project operations
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Current student or recent graduate in Interior Design or a related field
• Strong visual, written, and digital communication skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop), Canva, and Google Workspace
• Experience editing short-form video content for social media
• Exceptional eye for photography and videography
• Entrepreneurial spirit with genuine enthusiasm for both design and content creation
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable, functioning vehicle
COMPENSATION
This internship pays starting at $18/hour, with potential increases based on experience and performance. You’ll receive hands-on mentorship, take part in active studio projects, and gain experience across design, operations, and marketing—with the potential opportunity for a longer-term role after the 3-month internship.
